SHINY TOYS promotes artists who use analog and digital technologies to explore and cross boundaries in sight & sound. Our aim is to look at a broad field of experimental audiovisual art, to tighten the links between audiovisual art, science, history, media art and digital culture.

Once a year we are organising the SHINY TOYS* FESTIVAL, a festival exploring music, image, artwork, analog and digital art. By crossing the universe of music, image artwork, live production, analog and digital art, SHINY TOYS is working on a layer between analog and digital technologies that – through manipulation, control and modulation of information – discovers and establishes new communication streams as well as creating alternative social contexts and connections between virtual and physical spaces. Our view of reality is now largely determined by the images that we perceive through modern means of communication. By forming the interconnection of multiple aesthetic levels (space, light, sound, image) and the use of digital and analog media technology opens up new possibilities of perception and experience of space. Tracing new modes of action and implications of audiovisual experiments in space. With that, basic issues of image perception and visual communication should be considered as well as interfaces to current application fields of media arts and technology.
