Little Islands Festival (LIF) seeks creators with original narratives intertwining human, natural, and cultural realms. Inspired by the Homo Narrans project, it nurtures Balkan and Mediterranean narratives through film, media, sound, and photography, fostering community dialogue while transcending boundaries.
LIF 2024 expands this narrative exploration, celebrating Homo Narrans, the "narrative animal." Through myths, films, and interactive mediums, it crafts collective experiences transcending time and reality, affirming narrative's primal role in human existence.
The open call draws inspiration from Aegean myths, inviting artists worldwide to explore narratives spanning past, future, local, and mythical realms. It welcomes diverse proposals, including documentaries, performances, digital storytelling, and site-specific art, delving into themes of heritage, memory, and futurity.
Selected works will grace the 6th LIF in Sikinos, engaging audiences with immersive experiences and participatory art.
