[Texto disponível apenas em inglês] A playlist of original, deconstructed and manipulated tracks, inspired by the methods of William S. Burroughs, accompanies and supports the two performers in action: an altered score of words, sounds and a/synchronous bodies.
W. S. Burroughs’ cut-up technique runs through the entire performance. There is something incredibly scandalous and still strikingly contemporary about his figure: writer, essayist and painter, but also drug addict, murderer, visionary, queer icon and theorist of the destruction and deconstruction of language.
A loose cannon who challenged the respectability and social conventions of an America marked by contradictions, injustice and violence. His dry, corrosive and obsessive voice—that of an “urban shaman”—runs through the performance, bringing to the surface the debris of modernity, institutional violence, and the ghosts of addiction and desire.
