In 1998, at the age of 21, his project Democracia Sonora, sampled folk voices remixed by local Djs, wins the most prestigious award in the area for artists under 30. He then starts to organize weekend contemporary art soirées that feature various disciplines, ranging from contemporary dance to art installations, all this fueled by a young postwar scenario. Also, co-founds the 1st electronic music collective and gathers at somepoint more that 30 thousand attendees, moment in which Rigo decides to devote himself to conceptual music and art installations, enrolling himself in a 2-year tour doing residencies at small galleries in Paris, Toronto, Miami, México & Belize.Upon returning in 2003, he co-founded SUAE, a huge gallery-store located in the first pedestrian district of Guatemala, which became the coffee place for the hype youth at the time. Later, as senior creative copywriter in an ad agency, he engages big brands to support the 1st Festival of Installation Art of Central America, Habitart. In this time he also starts again his musical experiments with Pealcubo (hardcore rock and reggaetón) and then with Chichikúa (hip-cumbia quartet). In 2004 he travels with them to Barcelona for a festival and decides to stay. Studies a Master in Marketing while joining several local bands of oldskool funk & electro garage as vocalist and keyboardist. In 2006 he co-founds microBCN, the Barcelona headquarter of the global 8bit and chiptune music. He then starts to throw parties at several venues and curates events for local galleries like Kültur Büro Barcelona and Naumón, the boat stage of La Fura del Baus Theatre Company, where he got in touch with naked performances and strong attitudes that lead to the launching of MENEO, a combination of reggaetón, boleros andother influences with gameboys, lo-fi toys and analog synthesizers.
