[Texto disponível apenas em inglês] AURORAE is the first chapter of the saga “Apocalypto” conceived by Danté.
A meteorite strikes the earthly ground, creating a crater; in this crater an event is hypnotized, which the common spectator will not be allowed to see, what the chosen one will explore, but only to feel its entropy. The meteorite is perhaps a gift, but it needs to be interpreted. An entity will accompany the chosen one in the realization of the ritual, guiding him towards the awakening.
The installation offers a visual preview of what the chosen one will explore, allowing him to interact with the entity by speaking to it, but without being able to look at it, and he will be able to juggle the entropy that the meteorite expels.
Wearing the headset, the headphones and the suit with sensory gloves is expected, in order to perceive the caress of the entropy crossing the body. A preview will also be provided to external passersby of what the explorer will encounter, through a monitor placed in front.
The spectators will still be involved, since their presence will be physically perceivable even within the explorer’s vision, thanks to their relevance captured by an electromagnetic sensor.
The entity will be interactive thanks to the use of a local LLM running on a Raspberry Pi 5, and the database will be fed by a large archive written from scratch. However, in any project, the artist maintains a conscious distance from generative artificial intelligence, from any form of plagiarism and from political incentives. The transmission of meaning occurs in a visceral way within each of us, but with the difficulty of going beyond superficiality.
